    High School CTE (Vocational) Teacher - Auto Collision or Auto Collision Specialist

    Job Summary:
    This course is designed to expose students to the Automotive Collision Repair Industry. Students will learn fundamental metal straightening, welding, surface preparation, & refinishing procedures according to I-CAR & ASE standards. Body filler, masking, & sanding procedures will also be emphasized. Interpersonal relations will be developed through group activities & industrial interactions.
    In addition, students will focus on I-CAR & ASE standards in plastic repair, corrosion protection, detailing, & estimating. In depth study of metal preparation & painting techniques are taught, with safety emphasized throughout. In addition, students will focus on I-CAR & ASE standards in identifying & correcting paint problems, automotive electrical technology, & career preparation.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Must have an Arizona Teaching Certificate for Industrial and Emerging Technologies or appropriate experience which will enable the successful candidate to become certified. Applicants must meet Arizona and Federal Highly Qualified Requirements - Please contact Arizona Department of Education at http://www.ade.state.az.us for information concerning reciprocity. Up to 20 years experience credit on the certified salary schedule. New Teachers receive a 198 day contract. Training to all new teachers, paid holidays, Arizona State Retirement, 12 undesignated paid leave days.     EVALUATION:
    · The teacher's performance is evaluated by the building principal and/or designee according to the provisions of PUSD’s policy on evaluation.

    Classroom setting and industrial shop setting which includes applicable equipment and curriculum for the subject. Work where others play.
