    CTE Automotive Technology Teacher at Page High School

    Salary:
    Depending on education and experience, will give credit for up to 20 years experience on the certified salary schedule.

    Job Summary:
    This class will cover careers in the automotive field, shop practices, tools and equipment and systems of the automobile. The second semester will concentrate on brake systems, steering and suspension systems, and introduction to automotive electricity. This is a two year program, self paced by the student. Their first year students will concentrate on automotive electricity and electronics, and engine performance/maintenance. The third year will introduce students to engine rebuilding, machining techniques. Transmissions and differentials will also be introduced.

    The job of "Teacher - High School" is done for the purpose/s of developing students' academic skills through academic courses of study and implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment, and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

    Qualifications:
    The district will help applicants with appropriate qualifications to obtain CTE certification. Applicants must meet Arizona and Federal Highly Qualified Requirements - Please contact Arizona Department of Education at http://www.ade.state.az.us/ for information about reciprocity. Teach in a High School of approximately 800 students. Any newly hired applicant must successfully obtain an IVP fingerprint clearance card.
