    TITLE: District Liaison

    SALARY: Classified Schedule – Level 4

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. High School diploma required.
    2. Ability to relate well with both adults and children.
    3. Familiarity with surrounding Navajo communities.
    4. Good written and especially oral language skills in English.
    5. Navajo language speaker preferred.
    6. Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records in writing and on a computer.
    7. Valid Driver’s license.


    REPORTS TO: Student Support Services Coordinator

    JOB GOAL: To bridge communication between the schools and the parents/guardians of our students.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Deliver written communications from the school: i.e. District Hearing letters.
    2. Get signatures from families on required paperwork.
    3. Provide transportation to or from school when no other transportation is available.
    4. Complete home visits as necessary.
    5. Translate for visitors who are not comfortable communicating in English.
    6. Reach out to students with excessive absences: i.e. - in danger of 10-day drop.
    7. Attend Student Support Team meetings as assigned.
    8. Log all calls and meetings with parents.
    9. Assist with distribution of Friday Food Program.
    10. Assist with other school needs as assigned: i.e. - parent teacher conferences
    11. The District reserves the right to amend this job description as necessary


    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As determined by the Governing Board

    EVALUATION: Twice per year by the Student Support Service Coordinator/ to Superintendent
